Intellego Launches the World’s First UVC Dosimeter for Far UV-C (222 nm) Devices

STOCKHOLM (July 13, 2021) — Intellego Technologies today announced the forthcoming launch of a new colorimetric dose indicator designed for Far UV-C devices. The product, identified as UVC222-Dots, are intended for use with Far UV-C excimer lamps and will color-indicate UV-C doses ranging from 5 to 150 mJ/cm² when exposed to 222 nm.

UVC 222 dosimeter dots“Our new 222 Dots will be the first product to provide visible evidence and verification of FAR UV-C disinfection cycles,” said Intellego Technologies CEO Claes Lindahl. “This is a very exciting expansion of our catalog of UVC dosimeters and is only the first of several dosimeters for the 222 nm marketplace we are developing.”

Each card features five 1″ dosimeter “Dots” with adhesive backs that can be easily removed from the card and placed on surfaces that will be exposed to Far UV-C (222 nm). Exposure to Far UV-C will initiate a color-change on the Dot, causing a check mark to appear at 5 mJ/cm². Increased exposure of 20, 50, 75, 100 and 150 mJ/cm² can be identified using an enclosed color-reference chart.

Intellego’s UVC222-Dots have been validated by RISE, the Research Institutes of Sweden and are currently being studied by independent research organizations in the United States. When stored at room temperature in the original packaging and away from direct sunlight, Intellego’s UVC Dosimeters have a 3-year shelf life.

According to Lindahl, private label and customizations are available in certain quantities.

The UVC222 Dots will begin shipping worldwide in August 2021.
